OTHERS_CITABLE Algorithm and Monitoring the Formation of the Readiness of Masters for Intercultural Integration in the Scientific and Pedagogical Community Changes in the system of higher education in Russia determine the need for its intensification due to the substantive burden of international scientific and pedagogical cooperation, which requires additional resources in terms of training teachers and students.  The problem of creating an algorithm and a mechanism for monitoring the formation of the readiness of masters for intercultural integration in the scientific and pedagogical community is being actualized.  The purpose of the research is to substantiate and test experimentally the algorithm and mechanism for monitoring the formation of the readiness of masters for intercultural integration in the scientific and pedagogical community.  The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that it: describes the trends in the development of master training for intercultural integration in the scientific and pedagogical community, affecting the specifics of the educational process at the university;  identified and described the essential characteristics of the algorithm and mechanism for monitoring the formation of the readiness of masters for intercultural integration;  substantiated and described the role positions of a foreign language teacher as a subject of pedagogical interaction in the process of professional training of masters;  justified the choice of criteria, indicators, methods and tools for diagnosing the training of masters for intercultural integration based on the study of a foreign language. The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that: its results are used in the activities of higher education institutions in Russia; the proposed algorithm and monitoring of the formation of the readiness of masters for intercultural integration in the scientific and pedagogical community provide the foreign language teacher with the opportunity to plan their own professional activities when preparing masters for international cooperation.   As a result of the research, the article concluded that the developed algorithm represents the interrelated stages of cooperation between the teacher and students based on the methods of active teaching of a foreign language, with the inclusion of monitoring the results of preparation for intercultural integration. http://mjltm.org/article-1-511-en.pdf 2019-04-15 0 0 10.26655/mjltm.2019.3.1 algorithm monitoring readiness formation masters intercultural integration scientific and pedagogical community international cooperation active learning methods
OTHERS_CITABLE Analyzing Rhetoric of Conversion in English Translation of Literary Works with “Mountain” Translating literary works into English differs from translating general documents because of the rich rhetorical techniques used in the former. To ensure that the evocative connotations of words and meanings are translated precisely, it is important to understand the techniques and rhetorical skills used in literary works. “Mountain” is a Chinese magazine about hiking, climbing and natural scenery, and its articles present the aesthetics of nature through colorful depictions of the natural world using the rhetoric of conversion and vivid descriptions. For this reason, it is worthwhile exploring the art of the text and rhetoric of conversion, to understand them in relation to the English translation. This study applied qualitative research methods to the magazine’s content, and summarized four types of personification used to describe the natural world. The study should be useful to Chinese-English translators by providing information regarding the use of personification, so that they can preserve the literary art of aesthetics and liveliness expressed through the applied techniques. http://mjltm.org/article-1-512-en.pdf 2019-04-15 0 0 10.26655/mjltm.2019.3.2 rhetoric of conversion personification English translation literary works

OTHERS_CITABLE Dominant concepts of English lullabies in the cultural linguistic aspect The relevance of this work lies in the increasing interest of researchers of folklore to the genre of lullaby.  The purpose of the work is to study the dominant concepts of English lullabies in the linguocultural aspect.  The scientific novelty of the study is that to achieve its goal, a theoretical and contextual analysis of the dominant concepts of English lullabies, presented in authentic folklore texts, was used.  The practical significance of the work lies in the fact that the basic provisions and materials can be used in lectures on comparative linguistics, cognitive linguistics and the lexicology of the English language in the preparation of translators in Russian universities and in foreign language departments.  As a result of theoretical and contextual analyzes of English lullaby songs, twelve dominant concepts were examined, considered in the linguocultural aspect.  The most common concept is "child".  As a result, it was concluded that the concept is a conditional mental unit, which provides invaluable assistance in the integrated study of the English language, consciousness and interculture.  In the linguocultural aspect, the concept is a mental projection of cultural elements in the consciousness of the individual and society and is objectified in language and speech. http://mjltm.org/article-1-514-en.pdf 2019-04-15 0 0 10.26655/mjltm.2019.3.4 dominant concepts English lullabies linguocultural aspect folklore genre cultural and cognitive approaches cultural foundation of the language structural-semantic system
OTHERS_CITABLE Macrostructural Study of Digital Judgments from England and Wales. A Comparative Analysis Judgments constitute the most important court document in every legal system in the world, which requires a complete and accurate understanding of it by both expert and non-expert readers. The main aim of this research is to analyse a digital corpus of 25 judgments given in England and Wales, countries ruled by the Common Law system. The main goal of this study is to deepen into those heterogenous court judgments in order to show their rich, but complex, nature by means of an internal description of the documents. The study method of these judgments, previously mentioned, is based on Teun A. van Dijk’s macrostructure theory, which semantically creates an interior design for a comprehensive understanding of the documents. The results of this study finally revealed an independent structure inside the document with some common elements that frame most of the documents. Thanks to this study, non-specialist readers and researchers from different fields of study, such as Translation and Interpreting (English < > Spanish), or Law (Common Law < > Civil Law), will have a first-hand description that summarises the most common features of such an important legal document: court judgments. http://mjltm.org/article-1-515-en.pdf 2019-04-15 0 0 10.26655/mjltm.2019.3.5 Judgments Macrostructure England and Wales Comparative analysis
